Step 1: Download and Install the Edge Updater Software

Step 2: Plug your CTS3 Monitor into your PC with the supplied mini USB Cable

Step 3: Open the Update Agent software and wait for the program to recognize the device. If it does not recognize the device, unplug and replug in the device.

Step 4: Apply any of the latest updates.

Step 5: After the update is finished the program may launch the Holley Ignition website. If not, click the "Show Store" button.

Step 6: Scroll down the page until you find "EDGE INSITE+ CUSTOM TUNE LICENSE." This is what you will purchase to upgrade your CTS3.

 

Step 7: Once you have purchased this upgrade, you will receive confirmation emails from Holley Performance. You will need to wait about 3-5 minutes for the order to be fully processed. Unplug and replug in your CTS3 device to your PC.

Step 8: When the order is complete you will get another update available message in the Update Agent software. Follow the update. When this is finished you will now be ready for custom tuning.

Reading your Stock Files for Custom Tuning

Step 1: Plug the device into your vehicle and power the device up with the key on. Enter the Tuning Menu on your device and select “Custom Tuning”   

Step 2: Select the “Read Backup” option and select continue when prompted on the next screen

Step 3: After the backup read is complete, the user will be prompted with the following message. They can now unplug their device and head to a computer.   

 

Step 4: Connect the device to a PC and open the CTS3 drive. Navigate to the "Tunes" folder, then select the folder that corresponds to the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) of the vehicle you wish to custom tune. Inside that folder, you will find the backup read files from the vehicle. Attach the backup read files to an email and send them to your Custom Tune Partner for further processing.

 

Loading a custom tune onto the device and into the vehicle

Once the user receives the Custom Tune(s) back from the Custom Tune Partner, it’s time to load them back onto the device and into the vehicle. Follow these steps below.

Step 1: Drop the tunes from the Custom Tune Partner into the root of the device drive. The drive will disappear from the PC and the device will report that it is loading the files. Once that is complete, disconnect the device from your computer and head back to your vehicle  

 

Step 2: With the device powered on in your vehicle, go to the “Tuning” menu, select “Custom Tuning” on the next screen, then choose “Install Tune”. Select the Custom Tune(s). In most cases the engine and transmission will have separate tunes. The user will need to select each of them to be installed.

Step 3: The user will be prompted to further customize their tunes. In most cases, this is not necessary, as the Tuner has already made the required adjustments. Select “Install”.  

Step 4: The device will display the selected tunes and any changes you may have made in the “Customize” menu. Select “Accept and Install” to begin loading the tunes to the vehicle.   

Step 5: Follow any on-screen instructions, such as completing key cycles, until the tune installation is finished. Once complete, you’ll see a confirmation message, and your custom tune will be successfully loaded. You are now ready to hit the road!
